All the Gym Mark documents are now complete. You should find Information on the notice board at Collegiate and here on the website on the `Information` page.
This year the Club is aiming towards gaining Gym Mark accreditation.
The introduction of Sport England’s “Clubmark” has encouraged British Gymnastics (BG) to adopt set core criteria as its own, to enable gymnastics clubs to work towards nationally recognised accreditation. GymMark therefore is BG’s club accreditation scheme that recognises a quality club.
The key phrase for British Gymnastics is ”safe, effective and child-friendly”.

Flick Flac Christmas competition
Well done to everyone who took part in this great friendly competition. The club came back with over 200 medals. For many this is the first taste of gymnastics competition. The pleasure the young gymnasts and their parents get makes all the preparation that goes into it all worthwhile. Thanks to all the coaches who put their time and energy into it.
Bill Slater Team Competition - Newcastle
We entered a team in the Bill Slater Team competition in October, it is several years since we last entered. It meant a two day stay for the team and supporters. Several coaches and gymnasts and parents went to support the team who performed very well against some strong clubs. With the emphasis on creating a team, the gymnasts spent time socialising as well as training together. It had a great effect on them and we all enjoyed the experience. The team finished 12.
British Veterans Competition - Waveney 2010
Lilliana took part in her first veterans competition recently and came 1st.
It is a fantastic result and has encouraged her to think about entering more.
She trained just once a week in the run up to the comp but still competed a Yurchenko vault and a double back somi on floor.

Sports Acrobatics Finals 2010...
Five local Gymnasts have beaten the odds at the Sports Acrobatics British finals 2010 by achieving high rankings despite being fairly new to competition.
The group, from Blackpool Gymnastics Club which is supported by Blackpool Council staff and coaches along with volunteer coaches, traveled to Stoke on Trent over the weekend to take part in only their third ever acrobatic competition.
Even though they were new comers they were placed sixth and one pair took Bronze. Morgan Hanley (18), Hayley Hodgkinson (18) and Abigail Mercer Competed as a women's group trio and Will Panter (20) and Melanie Evans (16) competed as a mixed pair.
All five had qualified for the finals after taking first place at the North West championships in February.
Will Panter, Age 20, only started gymnastics last summer which makes his achievement all the more amazing. He said: "I am so glad I started this as its been a fantastic experience and I am so proud of my partner Mel it’s been a team effort from us gymnasts and the coaches"
Sammy Mankowska has helped coach the team along with Nicola Gosling and said: "We are so proud of all 5 of them they have done amazing. They have worked so hard and have a great team partnership. We were so nervous before the competition but now obviously we are all over the moon and all the hard work and time was all worth it.”
The group especially caught the eye of the Great Britain Acrobatics Coach who paid a visit to the team and pointed out how impressed he was with them all.
Well done all of them!
2010 Espoirs... Gloucester
Well done Amy. This was Amy`s first competition at this level and she was competing new skills on all apparatus. Competing on her own at a competition of this level was quite nerve wracking but she coped very well. There was plenty of support for her as several coaches and gymnasts traveled down to support her.
